Return to Limpy Creek

August 2010

Grants Pass, Oregon

We went for another hike up Limpy Creek Interpretive Botanical Trail. The water was running, even in the height of summer, and waterfalls were everywhere! Here are the photos....

(A reminder: in shaded environments, my camera's pictures are fuzzy...I apologize.)

(To see shots from the first Limpy Creek hike in January 2010, visit this page.)

Surprise!

As we pulled into the parking area, I recognized the car to my right -- it belonged to our friend Laurel! She and her friend Sallyeanne had just arrived, and they invited us to join them.

The trail begins near the base of the creek:

We headed up the trail and over a bridge...

...and eventually came to a sitting area overlooking the creek:

Along the way we saw some large, inverted, bowl-shaped spider webs:

But where were the spiders?

As usual, there were lots of cool moss and lichen:

Abundant ferns:

And, of course, endless views of the creek and waterfalls!

We eventually wound our way up to the drier serpentine area:

...where some of the trunks are red!

Looking up has its benefits:

And so does looking out! There was a great view of the mountains:

I hope you enjoyed this return to Limpy Creek!
