Grants Pass Autumn

November 2009

Grants Pass, Oregon

Grants Pass, Oregon is an incredibly beautiful area filled with mountains, grass, trees, flowers, and the lovely Rogue River. Fall temperatures are mild, in the 40's and 50's during the day, with overcast skies and frequent rain. Even though the trees are losing their leaves, the flowers are still blooming! Here are some photos of autumn in Grants Pass.

The Rogue River

The Rogue River winds its way through town. Several bridges cross the river, including a pedestrian bridge for walking and bicycling. Scenic parks, restaurants and private homes line the banks. Views are plentiful and lush!

(These shots were taken from the property where I am staying!)

Caveman Bridge

Mountains surround the town. I took these shots from the nearby hills:

Fog and low-lying clouds are common at this time of the year:

As the weather gets cooler, leaves change color:

Leaves are everywhere!

The cooler weather brings lots of moisture. Mushrooms and fungi abound!

Mushrooms for lovers?

(The white heart in the center is NOT a PhotoShop add-on!)

Mushrooms or leaves?

Fungus even grows on trees!

Despite the cooler temperatures, wildflowers continue to bloom....

And so do roses!

Berries appear in many colors...

The Canada Geese are here year round!

I hope you enjoyed our fall pictures!

Happy Holidays from Grants Pass!
