December brought lots of fog to Grants Pass. The fog is a result of an "inversion," when cool, moist, valley air gets trapped below a layer of warmer air. The cool air turns to fog, which creates special effects when it freezes! |
Have You Ever Seen the Fog?
I went out in the early morning light to take some pictures in the fog. I forgot to turn off the flash. Here is what happened:

Those are FROZEN FOG PARTICLES reflected back by the flash! This was pretty cool, so I took some more shots:

Frozen Fog
When the fog freezes, it covers the plants with tiny spikes. It's pretty cool!
