Cathedral Hills Trails

June 2011

Grants Pass, Oregon

In February I discovered the Cathedral Hills Trails not far from our house. Managed by the Bureau of Land Management, they are well-marked, and offer 10 miles of trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding.

Skycrest Trail

In February Margarita and I took a hike up Skycrest Trail, on the north side of the system.

The trail winds up and around a ridge overlooking the city. The trees were bare, so there were lots of great views!

Spring Hikes

In April we returned for several hikes to see the wildflowers. We stayed on the trails in the southern portion of the system, including Backside Loop, Lower Hogback Trail, Cloverlawn Loop and Zed's Trail.

Shots of the trails:

Wildflowers were in abundance:

The views were spectacular, especially along Zed's Trail:

May you walk in beauty each and every day!
